Routine Estate Planning

Although Chris is a business and contracts lawyer, he also offers routine estate planning services to his community. Estate planning often involves gifting and money transfers and having a business mind-set helps in advising his clients in making their important estate planning decisions.

Chris strives to educate clients on the need for at least some estate planning, as well as on the importance of putting the plan into action. If complex or specialized tax or other issues are involved, the law firm may offer a referral for the client or may work with outside consultants on the matter.

For many individuals, at least having a will, durable power of attorney and other basic documents are important. Often insurance, property agreements, lifetime gifting, and other planning tools are part of the firm’s recommendations.

Unfortunately, a large percentage of the population has not procured even the routine planning documents and have not sought professional advice on estate planning from an attorney. Not having the proper planning in place may cause substantial problems, much turmoil and uncertainty for loved ones, and be very costly in the long run.

The law firm offers estate-planning packages at flat rates, or at an hourly rate if that is appropriate for the client’s situation.
